Le Freak

is the high skill, high energy, hilarious and dangerous co-creation of award-winning sideshow artists Elle Diablo and Themme Fatale.

Featuring a cast of world-class queer, trans, disabled and sex worker performers, Le Freak is sideshow reclaimed - and then reimagined through the lens of a lost 1970s exploitation film. Uniquely combining high stakes sideshow and circus stunts with high concept surreal storytelling, watch if you dare as these critically acclaimed artists sharpen their swords and their stilettos in a jam-packed hour of danger, humour, drag, strip, and the fear that only a text from Centrelink can inspire.

    Naarm's original sideshow-slinging drag clown, Themme Fatale is an internationally touring drag artist, aerialist, author, producer, “Bimbo Laureate”, and Daddy of the people.

    Infusing their high energy drag style with the skills and danger brought from their background in circus and sideshow, their work transcends both genre and gender, and has featured in Gender Euphoria, YUMMY, The House of Yes, Sydney World Pride, The NGV, Melbourne Fashion Week, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Archer Magazine, and across the festival circuit.

    Elle Diablo is a Naarm-based sword swallower, sideshow performer, aerialist, burlesque artist, and winner of the Australian Pole Theatre Pro Comedy 2023. Elle is the co-director of Bottoms Up Dance in Brunswick - a burlesque and pole school that has produced many award-winning performers. She’s been performing for over 16 years and recent credits include Sideshow Femmes, CHURCH, and After Hours Cabaret.

    Dale Woodbridge-Brown is an award-winning Kamilaroi man and circus artists from Mugindi. He was awarded the NAIDOC performer of the 2019 and Indigenous circus performer 2021 by the Australian Circus Festival.

    Dale sports an impressive resume as ensemble member for international powerhouses Circus Oz, Briefs Factory and Casus Circus as well as holding his own as a formidable independent MC and artist.

    Dale’s dedication thrives due to his strong connection to his family, culture and love of making people laugh. His skills range from a forward roll to swallowing a sword.

    Olly Lawrence is a non-binary arts professional based in Melbourne. They are best known as the producer of T4T: A Transgender Showcase, Burlesque Up Late, and the multi-award winning Anna Piper Scott: Such An Inspiration. With a keen eye for operations, they are the current program manager of multidisciplinary venue The Motley Bauhaus, and former venue and production manager of cabaret venue The Butterfly Club.

    They have experience in everything from festival organisations such as Midsumma Festival and Next Wave Festival - to grass-roots projects such as Fledgling Magazine and .JPG Arts Journal, and are a judge on the Green Room Awards cabaret panel.
